Perry, 91, passed away at home with his wife and entire family by his side on October 31, 2021. He was born on February 19, 1930 in Chicago, IL to the late George and Pauline (nee Askounis) Savas.
Perry was the son of Greek immigrants who instilled strong values of family, faith, and work ethic that Perry carried with him throughout his life. Perry worked as an executive for Mead Paper for most of his career in the fine paper industry. Perry was a devoted Greek Orthodox Christian and served his parish, St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Oak Lawn, IL in many capacities, including President of the Parish Council and Sunday School Teacher, while leading others to the faith. Together he and his wife, Tina, created a loving family and lifelong friendships.
Perry was the loving husband of 66 years to Constantina “Tina”; devoted father to George (April) Savas, Peter (Nancy) Savas, John Savas, and Steve (Stacey) Savas; cherished Papou of his namesake Paraskeva (Erin) Savas, Nicholas (Christie) Savas, Nina (Will) Ford, Patrick (Alexandra) Savas, Christine (Nicholas) Pipikios, Christopher (Staci) Savas, Alessandra Savas, Connie (James) Koustenis, Deena Savas, Peter (Megan) Savas; dear great-grandfather of Ava and Zeke Savas; dear brother of Theresa, the late Mary, Sam, Phil, Helen, Peter, and Angie; son-in-law of the late Peter and Pauline Boudos; loving uncle, cousin, and friend of many.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 1, 2021 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Trisagion at 6:30 p.m. at Chapel Hill Gardens South Funeral Home, 11333 S. Central Ave., Oak Lawn, IL. Funeral Service Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 10301 Kolmar Ave., Oak Lawn Visitation 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Interment Evergreen Cemetery.
