Bob was born on March 3, 1953 in Chicago, Illinois, to Calvin and Esther (Weissfuss) Martens. He grew up in Oak Lawn and lived in Indiana for a short period.
Bob is remembered for his kindness and sense of humor. He enjoyed working on computers. Above all, he cherished time with family and friends.
Bob is survived by his cousins Thomas (Linda) Martens, William (Shelley) Martens, Jacqueline (Martens) Szulczewski, Cynthia (Martens) Lamacki and Carolyn (Martens) Tackes. He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Esther (Weissfuss) Martens and his sister, Carole E. Martens.
A memorial service will be held at Chapel Hill Gardens South Funeral Home, located at 11333 South Central Ave, Oak Lawn, IL, 60453, United States. The service is scheduled for February 16, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Family and friends are welcome to attend and celebrate Bob’s life.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
