Violet M. (Patterson) Bailey (nee Sorenson), age 81, of Chicago, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2024. Beloved wife of James W. Bailey since 1984 and former wife of the late Reverend Robert E. Patterson; loving mother of Rachel (Tony) Johnston, Stephen (Annette Martinez) Patterson and James R. (David Lezondra) Bailey; cherished grandmother of Abigail, Eleanor, Jacob, Luke, Catherine and the late Elizabeth; dear sister in law Mary Sorenson of Lake Mills, Iowa and Karen Cook of Normal, IL. Violet is preceded in death by her parents Arnold and Frieda Sorenson, brother Paul Sorenson, sister-in-law Jean Bregi and brother-in-law Fred Patterson. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Gardens South Funeral Home, 11333 S. Central Ave, Oak Lawn, IL. Funeral Thursday, September 5, 2024 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Hill Gardens South Funeral Home. Interment Private.
