Peggy Lynn Kilavos passed away on October 18th, 2019, at the age of 69 at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, IL. She is preceded in death by her father Herman Zeidler, mother Marion Zeidler, and brother James Zeidler. She is survived by her daughter Amanda Kilavos, brother Russell Zeidler, former husband and friend Peter Kilavos, as well as other loving friends and relatives.
Peggy was born on August 22, 1950, at Elmhurst Hospital and lived in Illinois throughout her life, spending the last 39 years in Bolingbrook. In 1968, she graduated from Willowbrook High School in Villa Park and worked alongside friends and relatives at Mr. Z’s Grocery Store as the third generation in the family business. She grew her career as an Assistant, most recently as the Executive Assistant to the head of the US Farm Bureau, before becoming a homemaker and full-time Mom.
Peggy dearly loved the ocean and the tropics, particularly Hawaii. She was a comedy and music lover with eclectic taste and would spontaneously sing anything from Broadway musicals and Elvis Presley to modern-day pop and alternative rock.
Memorial Services will be held at Chapel Hill Gardens West Funeral Home 17W201 Roosevelt Rd., Oakbrook Terrace, at 11 am Saturday, August 26th.
