

Peter Kalivas, 86, of Lombard, passed away on February 19, 2022. He was the beloved husband of the late Elaine (Bouloukos) for 50 years. Peter was the loving father to his three daughters, Beth (Adam) Gregule, Stephanie, and Kristen; beloved Papou to Alexandra, Anastasia, and Amalia; loving brother-in-law to Dean, and Don (Nancy); proud uncle and great uncle to many beloved nieces and nephews. Peter also leaves behind his son, Nick, and his four children. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas and Vasiliki; brother, George (Anastasia); and his two sisters, Phyllis (Louis) Diakoumis, and Dolores (Pano) Kalogeresis; and brother-in-law, George Bouloukos. He will be missed by many loving friends.
Peter served in the Armed Forces as a Specialist Fifth Class under the 122nd Ordinance Battalion of the 2nd and 3rd Armored Division. During his tour, Peter performed two NATO maneuvers in Hanau, Germany, and was involved with the Berlin Crisis of 1961 and extended his tour one additional year for the Cuban Crisis of 1962.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 24th, 2022, at Chapel Hill Gardens West Funeral Home, 17W201 Roosevelt Road, Oakbrook Terrace, from 4-8pm. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 25th, 2022, at Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church, 2501 S Wolf Rd, Westchester, at 10:30am, with a visitation from 10am until the time of service. Interment will be held immediately following service at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery, 17W201, Roosevelt Road, Oakbrook Terrace.
