William L. Crowder 98, of Woodridge Il., passed away peacefully on Thursday May 28th. He was born in Blue Island, IL on January 5th, 1922 to Minnie and Albert Crowder. Beloved husband of the late Flora for 72 years; loving father of Jerry (Georgia) Crowder, Joyce Driver and Mark (Alana) Crowder; cherished grandfather of Neal Crowder, Blake Crowder, David (Betsy) Driver, Mike (Maria) Crowder, Amy Crowder and Matthew (Sam) Crowder; adoring great grandfather of Everest, Julian, Ayden and Cora. He was a veteran of World II. There he served as a Navigator in the Army Air Forces, he was also called to serve in the Korean War, but was not deployed. Upon returning home from the war he made a career as a Mechanical Engineer.
His passions included, playing music on the piano and especially the accordion, and fixing things. He was the ultimate do-it-yourselfer, there wasn’t anything he couldn’t or wouldn’t fix. He was old school all the way and loved the Lawrence Welk Show.
