Carol Ann Cox, lovingly known for her servant’s heart and deep faith, was born on February 28, 1946, in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania, and passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026, in Ahwahnee, California, at 79, after years of vascular dementia and two strokes.
After graduating from high school, Carol married Bob Cox and devoted her life to being a pastor’s wife, a role she embraced with grace, humility, and tireless dedication. She poured herself into caring for her family and serving others—raising her children, cleaning houses, teaching Sunday school, homeschooling, and always finding ways to minister to those around her.
Carol cherished country life and found joy in simple blessings: her dogs, decorating her home, cooking wonderful meals, and taking walks and bike rides with her family. Above all, she loved her Lord and Savior deeply and lived as a true servant for His kingdom.
In 2005, Bob & Carol moved to California to be near her children and immediately became active in church life. She served faithfully first at Little Church in the Pines at Bass Lake and then several years later at Mountain Christian Center in Oakhurst, working in the church office and helping wherever she was needed. She shared her musical gifts by playing the accordion with a local group and for the elderly. Carol founded and led the Oakhurst Women’s Luncheon, mentoring countless women and participating in many Bible studies. She often opened her home to women for prayer, fellowship, and the study of God’s Word.
Carol was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bob Cox, in 2009, and her son, Tim Cox, in 2015. She is survived by her three daughters, Becki Jacobs and Jennifer Cox of Ahwahnee, and Stephanie Saar of Tollhouse; eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren with two more on the way; and a brother and sister in Pennsylvania.
A celebration of Carol’s life will be held on Saturday, January 24, at 10:00 a.m. at her home church, Mountain Christian Center, in Oakhurst, California. All are welcome to join in remembering and honoring a life so beautifully lived in service to others. Her Memorial will be followed by finger foods and beverages.
In lieu of flowers or donations, the family asks that monetary contributions be made directly to Becki Jacobs to help with the care of Jennifer. Contributions may be made by cash, check, or Venmo @Becki-Jacobs-1
