A celebration of life for Mary Jo will be held Friday, October 4, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at C. P. Bannon Mortuary, 6800 International Blvd, Oakland, CA 94621, followed by a committal service at
Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, Hayward, CA
Mary Jo, born August 26, 1958 to the proud parents, Mary Inez Smith and James Allen Howard Sr.
in Oakland, CA. She was the fourth of seven children, receiving her education in the Oakland Unified School District and continuing on to Laney College Cosmetology program where she became known as Mary Smooth Finger. She endeavored many jobs along her journey, also was a die hard Raiders fan.
She is survived by her two daughters Iesha and Delbrina, (3) grandsons, (1) daughter- niece, (3) brothers (2) sisters, fathers of her children John James Jr. and Delbert Mumphrey and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends who will forever cherish her memories.
