I send my sincerest condolences to the entire family on the passing of Ollie Baylis Payne.  I am trying to join the service but have been unable to do so.

We never met you, but we knew of you and your illness by way of your love one Yolanda Thomas. You are in our hearts and prayers from the stories that were shared. May God rest your soul and may  keep the family strong through this this difficult time.

Because of you ... i have so many precious memories.  You preached education, black excellence and the power of womanhood long before they became niche’. 

You introduced us to black filmmakers and star studded black tie events. You are and will always be a class act, so full of love and hope. 

Your example and tutelage radiate throughout my life.  Thank you for all you shared. 

Because of you my life will never be the same. And for that I will always be grateful. 

I long to see you again, and thanks to God’s promise i will  (John 5:28,29)

To Mr. Clarence, Nicolas and the Baylis-Payne Family,

Offering my sincerest condolences to you. Dr. B, which I fondly called her, was a special soul. As many of us who had the favor of working with her can attest to her sweet and caring spirit. She played a pivotal role in where I am today in my career. She pushed you to do more and be better when it came to serving others. I hope I made her proud. Besides work, we had another special connection. She was my "Southern Home Girl". Her being from the South and living in CA for a long time, she welcomed me with open arms as my family and I transitioned from Alabama/Louisiana to Richmond, CA. Whenever I missed home, I would go sit in her office and we would laugh and talk about "home".
She will always be near and dear to my heart. What a blessing from God she was. Rest on Dr. B., rest on. Heaven has called an angel home!

Dr. Baylis-Payne, an exceptional colleague and mentor, with a heart to serve others. It was a privilege to work with "Dr. B" as many of us called her. She was always positive and fair. She was vocal about things when they weren't right, but she was also as gentle as they come.  She supported  me during a work related political disappointment and encouraged me to move forward. I am grateful I was able to thank her for her words of wisdom.  She was also spoken of often in conversations with me and my father-in-law who attended her church.  While she was still at CCC he would always ask, "How's Ollie doing." When she retired the tables turned and I would ask him that same question ♥️. She will be missed on earth but her positove impact remains alive.

 I didn’t have the pleasure of personally meeting Ms. Ollie but I witnessed the love she gave to my friend, Yolanda Brice-Thomas. She meant the world to Ms. Yolanda which translates to me me she was a wonderful, loving & caring person. May the family be showered with peace & love during this painful time.
