Edna Mae Mann, 95, passed from this earth at Legacy House Hospice Care in Ocala, FL on June 26, 2018. She was the second daughter of Alice and Zenal Artist of Winamac, Indiana. She is survived by her brother Ira Artist from South Bend, Indiana. She was predeceased in death by two younger brothers Herman and Harry Artist, her older sister Dorothy Mann, and three younger sisters Ruth Shuttleworth, Betty Sausman, and Mary Artist. She married Wayne Mann, the love of her life, on May 20, 1939. They had five children: Mary Bean (Norman- deceased), Anita Hitz (Richard), Sarah Wells (Gary), William Mann (Mary), and Patricia Norton (James- deceased), 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren.
Edna and Wayne ran a 160 acre dairy farm in Culver, Indiana. Edna loved to share her stories of milking mishaps (like falling into the milk pail and standing dripping when the milk truck arrived), and feeding 13 calves with nipple buckets. She loved her animals, especially her chickens, with her favorites Skippy, Tuffy, Princess, Oreo and many others.
She was one of the hardest working woman on this earth, loved by everyone that met her. She never knew a stranger. She loved laughing and having a good time with the ones she cared for whenever she had the chance. She had endless love for her large family and was happiest when surrounded by them all. Her home was always open to anyone who needed a meal, or a place to stay. She will be greatly missed.
Funeral service will be at 10am Saturday June, 30, 2018, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Ocala FL. Immediately followed by graveside services. Luncheon will be held following graveside services.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be given to Hospice of Marion County in Edna's memory.
