

Rene C. Boucher, 89, of Ocala, Florida, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 29, 2016 at the Brandley Hospice House of Marion County. He was the beloved husband for 65 years to the late Evelyn Boucher. He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Springs Catholic Church. Born in Bellingham, Massachusetts on August 27, 1926, he was the son of the late Lionel Boucher and Orise (Laferriere) Boucher. He was the loving father of Rene C. Boucher, Jr and his wife, Mary Ellen of Cranston, R.I., Suzanne Hughes and her husband, Robert of Sarasota, FL, Paul Boucher of Ocala, FL, Marc Boucher and his wife, Marie, of Belleview, FL and to the late Jeanne Boucher. He leaves his cherished grandchildren, Raymond Hughes, Laura Boucher-Potter, Keith Boucher, James Boucher, Jeanne Boucher, and Eric Boucher. He was the loving great-grandfather of Zachary Volz, Marisa Viera, Grace Potter, Isabel Potter, Andrew Potter and Eliza Boucher. He is also survived by his sister, Rita Plasse of Lincoln, R.I. and brothers the late Jeanne of Albuquerque, NM, the late Gil Boucher of Cumberland, R.I. and the late Gaston Boucher of Cumberland.
Rene was a former resident of Woonsocket, R.I. He served in the US Army during WWII and was deployed to the Philippines. He was a welder at Janelle Truck Body of Cumberland, R.I. Rene belonged to many bowling leagues, loved playing card and horseshoes. He was also a member of the VFW.
Visitation and funeral service will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Ocala, Florida on Thursday, June 2, 2016. Visitation will be from 5pm-6pm with service to follow. Burial will take place on Friday, June 3 at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
