Born in Newark, NJ, he lived in Elberon, NJ from 1958-1972. He moved to Miami in 1972 to attend the University of Miami School of Architecture and Florida International University, where he earned a degree in Construction Management. He met his future wife, Patty, in Miami in 1979. They moved to Red Bank, NJ and married in 1982. David was an awesome husband and father. Dan was the light of his life-so proud. David was a "give you the shirt off his back" kind of friend and loved his friends dearly. He will be missed.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Patricia Black Hitman, of Ocean Township, and his son Daniel J. Hitman, of Belmar.
