

Neil Rockoff of Ocean Twp, NJ was born March 19, 1938 in Bayonne, NJ to Herman “Chick” and Florence “Flo” Rockoff. He received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Vermont. His great sense of adventure and love of travel brought him all around the world. His passion and vast knowledge of music, drew him into a long and successful career in Radio Broadcasting. Neil was the Chairman of the NY Board of Radio Broadcasting, and took country music to Carnage Hall, 1st time ever! He was written up in many magazines and major newspapers, even a full half page of the New York Times Business section and is listed in the “Who’s Who of America”. He was a mentor and instructor to many people in business and sports. As an author and a passionate political “junkie” Neil was able to express himself in a fictional novel. He was a sportsman who loved sailing, skiing, flying, horseback riding and golfing. In his later years Neil followed his love of art and began painting.
With all his accomplishments, his love of family and for his mother, father and two sisters were his world and remained there till the end. He was a wonderful and loving son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle and great uncle.
Neil is predeceased by his sister Roaine Sheperd and his daughter Cindy Aknight. Surviving, is his sister Ellen Bass, daughter Cheri Galarnyk, grandchildren Andrew and Victoria Galarnyk, Ryan and Ryaer Aknight.
Funeral Services to be held on Sept 9, 2016 at 2pm. Bloomfield Cooper Funeral Chapel of Ocean Twp. Shiva will be held at the home of Ellen Bass, 13 Hillside Terr, Ocean Twp, NJ on Sat night, Sunday and Monday.
