Sidney was born in Newark, NJ on July 30, 1936. He graduated from South Side High School
in 1954. He worked as a truck driver for many years, first for Gallo Wine and then for Reinfeld
Liquors. He was a member of Teamsters Local 863.
He raised his family in Ocean, NJ. During his retirement, Sidney moved to the Greenbriar II
community in Bricktown where he had many friends and enjoyed various activities. Most of all,
he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved to travel and
has been on over 30 cruises.
Sidney is predeceased by his parents, Bessie (Weiner) and Sam Kaplan, his brother, Alan
Kaplan and his sister, Irene Eisman. Sidney leaves behind his wife of 56 years, Sandra
(Margolies) Kaplan, his brother, Irving Kaplan, Jacksonville, Fl, his two children, Laurie Wall
(David) Ocean, NJ and Daniel Kaplan (Donald) South Amboy, NJ, and his two grandchildren,
Matthew and Brianna Wall.
Due to Covid 19 restrictions, Sidney’s burial will take place at Beth Israel Cemetery/Woodbridge
Memorial Gardens and will be limited to immediate family. In lieu of food or flowers, donations
