

She was born, May 17, 1912, at Eastland County, to Lela Stovall and Bert Cameron. She married D.D. Pitman on January 3, 1927, in Haskell, Texas. She was loved by all that knew her. She was a loving, kind and caring Mama, Grandmama and MawMaw. She will forever be missed. Ava was a member of the Church of Christ.
The family will receive visitors from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 17, 2010. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, August 18, 2010, at 10 a.m. at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home with Lon Briley and John Snider officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Justin Pitman, Dennis Pitman, Jason Gentry, Adam Ruiz, Boe Smith and Ronald Gentry.
She was preceded in death by her husband, D.D. Pitman; two sons, Edward and Donald Pitman; two daughters, Beatrice Livingston and Wanda Weaver; two brothers, Walter Smith and Earl Smith; and a sister, Ruby Houston.
She is survived by her son, Doyle Pitman and his wife Jo Anne of Odessa; daughter-in-law, Gloria Pitman; sons-in-law, Trenton Weaver and Jack Livingston; granddaughter, Donna Gentry and husband Ron of Odessa; grandsons, Dennis Pitman and wife Tami and Wesley Pitman all of Odessa, David Pitman and wife Merijo of Longview, Gary Weaver and wife Brandy of Corpus Christi and Dwayne Pitman, Randy Pitman and Eddie Pitman, all of Wyoming; great-grandchildren, Misti Smith, Jason Gentry, LaDona Ruiz and Justin Pitman, all of Odessa, David Pitman and Rachel Alen of Longview and Austin and Nicole Weaver of Corpus Christi; great-great grandchildren, Abigail Gentry, Kamryn and Brooklyn Ruiz, and Presli Smith of Odessa, and Jerimiah, Joshua and Sara Allen of Longview; and sister Opal Givens of Burnet.
