Born: October 13, 1973
Died: October 5, 2024
Barrett Heath Hinesly, affectionately known as "Bam Bam," passed away peacefully on October 5, 2024, just shy of his 51st birthday. Born on October 13, 1973, Barrett was a bright and charismatic soul who touched the lives of everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Barrett was the beloved husband of Lisa Johnston-Hinesly, whom he married on April 13, 2024. He was a devoted father to Trinity Jade Hinesly (19) and Remington Cade Hinesly (16), both of whom he adored and raised with love, strength, and care. He was the cherished son of Linda Parsons Scott and the late Donald Richard Hinesly. Barrett is also survived by his sister, Allison Hinesly Creech, and was predeceased by his brother Brad Hinesly.
Barrett was known for his sharp intellect, skipping the 2nd grade and graduating from Permian High School in 1991. His passion for life was evident in all that he did, from his love of the outdoors to his appreciation for rodeo and two-stepping. Summers were spent at Prude Ranch Summer Camp, where he forged memories and friendships that lasted a lifetime.
A man of many passions, Barrett had a deep love for the ocean and found joy in scuba diving. The peace and wonder he found beneath the waves mirrored his calming presence in life. He cherished every moment spent exploring the ocean, which became another of his sanctuaries alongside the outdoors.
Barrett’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to own and operate Double Barrel Consulting, where his hard work and dedication made him a trusted professional. He was always a friend to all, never meeting a stranger, and his friendly, easy-going nature endeared him to everyone.
His nickname, "Bam Bam," was earned in high school due to his incredible strength, despite his smaller stature and bright blonde hair. This nickname stayed with him throughout his life, symbolizing his strong presence and lively energy.
Barrett’s heart was deeply rooted in his love for the outdoors. Whether he was hunting, fishing, riding horses, or scuba diving, nature was his refuge. He also had a calming nature, always the voice of reason in any situation, bringing humor, joy, and light to those around him.
His grandfather, Big Daddy, was the greatest influence in his life, shaping him into the loving, hardworking, and compassionate man he became. Barrett’s legacy is one of laughter, strength, and a profound love for people. He was always there for those he cared about, a pillar of support, and a bright light in any room.
Barrett was married to Danielle Bell in September 2002, with whom he shared the joy of raising their two beautiful children, Trinity and Remington. Though they later parted ways, the bond they shared as parents remained strong.
Barrett will be remembered as a man who loved life and the people in it, who worked hard, played harder, and brought joy to all who knew him. His calming presence, sense of humor, and loving spirit will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
