Pastor Bette Aguirre Hill, was born in Marfa, Texas on March 25, 1945. She dedicated her life to fulfill her vision about Christians’ duty to meet the needs of others. Today we rejoice in knowing that she has passed the barrier of time and joined her beloved husband and is forever at home with the Savior she faithfully served for over 29 years. Bette was 13 and Rosario was 17 when they met and fell in love, then later married on January 30, 1959. For more than 52 years, they experienced the changing scenes of life in the joyous and fruitful companionship, which the Lord had entrusted to them. Their love for each other was a love story made from Heaven. Pastor Bette A. Hill was a Godly woman who always had a warm greeting and a smile on her face. She was always patient and encouraging. She humbly accepted her husband’s intense dedication for the Lord and his congregation. She was blessed with natural talents for organizing of people and vocal music she shared significantly over many decades with her husband in the life and work of the church. Her hobbies were Antique Shopping, traveling and visiting new restaurants and cafes. Bette enjoyed hosting yearly events such as Valentines Dinners, Mothers & Fathers Day luncheons, Festivals, Christmas Banquets, Cookie Swaps, retreats, and her most favorite of all Tea Parties. Bette committed to helping others by hosting a Breast Cancer Awareness Tea Party in partnership with Gloria Cisneros (Cancer Survivor). She leaves a legacy of thankful hearts among those who experienced her leadership in women’s ministries and in the congregational music for worship. She was greatly admired for her closeness to her grandchildren. She was so encouraging for their talents, and enjoyed going out to eat and shopping with them. She held a special bond with each one of them. Pastor Bette Aguirre Hill is preceded in death by her husband Pastor Rosario F. “And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” Joshua 24:15
