He was born January 30, 1954 in Odessa to Teofilo and Gloria Pineda Rangel.
Blas worked most of his life in the oilfield. He married Patricia Valle in November 2004 in Odessa.
He was a hard working family man who deeply loved his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife Patricia, three sons, Blas Rangel Jr. and wife Jolene, Emilio Rangel, and Michael Ybarra and wife Kayla, three daughters, Kathy Martinez and husband Mark, Geneva Rios and husband Chato, and Jasmine Ybarra all of Odessa, three brothers, Sammy Rangel and wife Stella of San Antonio, Manuel Pineda and wife Randi, and Timo Ybarra, two sisters, Nancy Baca and husband Daniel, and Manuela Ybarra all of Odessa, and nine grandchildren.
Rosary will be 7:00pm Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
Mass will be 3:00pm Friday, March 14, 2014 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church 2633 Conover Dr. with Father Michael Rodriguez officiating.
