Doris Lee Dubose Rasor

Doris Dubose Rasor went home to be with the Lord Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Medical Center Hospital. She was born June 25th, 1929 in Gonzales, Texas to Ora Power Dubose and LeRoy Dubose. She graduated with honors from Gonzales High School as Senior Vice –President, and wrote the Senior Christmas Play. She then attended Abilene Christian College, where she met Jimmie Rasor, they married in Gonzales December 27, 1947. Doris graduated Summa Cum Laude from ACC in 1949 with a degree in Business Administration. She and Jimmie moved to Odessa in 1956.

Doris was a devoted member of Sixth and Jackson Church of Christ for over 50 years. She taught VOE Lab at Odessa High School for 32 years retiring in 1998.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

She is survived by her brother Dr. Edwin Dubose of Abilene, Texas her sons Jimmy and wife Rena of Midland, Texas and Roy and his wife Julie of Roswell New Mexico, Grand-daughters, Jana Montgomery and husband Dan of Roswell, New Mexico, Lindsey Barnhouse and husband Brandon of Abilene, KS Karli Reeves and husband Derek of Las Cruces , New Mexico; grandson; Garrett Rasor and wife Tiffany of Pearland, Texas, five great-grandchildren; Cousin Martha Montgomery of Odem, Texas; many nieces and nephews.

Family visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday May 24th, 2011 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday May 25th, 2011 at Sixth and Jackson Church of Christ with Shawn Miller and Doug Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Garrett Rasor, Dan Montgomery, Brandon Barnhouse, Derek Reeves, Cody Montgomery, Richard Garner and Tommy Kennedy.
