

Doris Nell Russell, age 83, passed away Friday, May 6, 2011, at Parks Methodist Retirement Village in Odessa.
She was born October 31, 1927, to Homer and Myrtle (Young) Smith in San Angelo, TX. She married Oscar Lee Russell on November 25, 1947, in Monahans, TX. She was a professor at the University of Texas of the Permian Basin, as well as Odessa College. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister Martha Jo Cox, and her step-mother Nadine Smith.
She is survived by her daughter, Devie Russell of Odessa; her brothers, Pete Smith and family of Commerce, TX; and Richard Smith and family of Tyler, TX; two grandchildren, Tiffany Tubb and husband, Joey of Camp Lejeune, NC; and Jason Stoute and special lady, Morgan Charpetier of Elko, NV; three great-grandchildren, Krissy, Carson, and Colton Tubb; and all her sisters in Beta Sigma Phi.
A Rosary/Prayer Service will be held from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, May 9, 2011, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church with Father Mark Woodruff officiating. Interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the Monahans Memorial Cemetery in Monahans, TX.
Pallbearers will be Pete Smith, Richard Smith, Jason Stoute, Barry Stoute, GySgt. Joey L. Tubb USMC, and Chris Chamlee.
