

Elvira McGuire, 89, of Odessa passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Seabury Nursing Home. She was born March 3, 1928 in Casa Piedra, TX to Jose & Encarnacion Chavez. She was a Christian Catholic and devoted homemaker, a diehard Dallas Cowboy, Texas Rangers and Ector Eagle fan. She is survived by her children, Gloria Hernandez & husband Robert of Odessa, Eva Romero of Odessa, Alicia Ramirez & husband Bernardo of Midland, Edward McGuire & wife Romelia of Moreno Valley, CA, David McGuire & wife Nelda of Odessa, Richard McGuire & wife Christy of Odessa, her sister, Anita Bustamante of Marfa, (19) grandchildren, (32) great-grandchildren, and (1) great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Edwardo “Lalo” McGuire, sisters, Carmen Simpson, Narcisa Rayo, brothers, Catarino, Concepcion, Victor & Ramon Chavez, son-in-law, Johnny Romero, and grandsons, Joshua Nathan & Caleb James Aguero. A visitation will be from 3:00 to 9:00 pm with a Rosary said at 7 pm Thursday, April 27, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am Friday, April 28, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with Fathers Frank Chavez, Isadore Ochiabuto & Joe Uecker officiating. Pallbearers are Oscar Aguero, Samuel Romero, Daniel, & Bernie Ramirez, Bobby & Alex Hernandez. Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
