Epifania Renteria Marquez

Her friends knew her as Epi, and she was born April 7th 1950 to the late Efren and Juanita Renteria in Pecos, Texas. She had twelve brothers and sisters who grew up and worked on the family farm.

She was married to Pedro Vijil Marquez on November 22, 1970. They had three sons Pete, Abel, and Phillip Marquez. She was a loving mother and a doting grandmother with a wonderful sense of humor. She used to scare and prank her children and friends as they were growing up. She was a Medical Center Hospital Retiree and made many lasting friendships as was evident by her many staff visitors during her last hospital stay.

She will be greatly missed by her boys and adoring grandchildren but will be reunited with her parents, husband, and middle son and several brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her sons Pete and Rachel Marquez, Phillip and Kristy Marquez. She has six grandchildren in birth order Sandra, Isaac, Zachary, Natalie, Mikael Maximus, and Abel Marquez. She has two brothers, Efren and Benino Renteria, and one sister, Cleofas Rodriguez, remaining. She is a member of the body of Christ worshipping at Sherwood Church of Christ.

Visitation will be from 6:00pm-8:00pm Friday, April 11, 2014 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Her viewing will be handled by Hubbard Kelly Funeral Home Saturday, April 12, 2014 with services at Sherwood church of Christ at 2pm with an internment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers the family wishes for you to instead make a donation to a home hospice organization or the American Cancer Society in her honor.
