Freddy Joe Golden, a long time resident of Odessa, Texas, went to be with the Lord on March 28, 2021 at the age of 70. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, James Allen Golden and William Harold Golden.
Freddy is survived by his wife Pamela Sue (Rogers) Golden, his son Daniel Brian Golden and daughter Jennifer Rene Golden of Tennessee, two grandchildren Jacelyn Danielle Golden and Colton Ray Golden. He is also survived by his siblings Donna Hayes, Kenneth Golden (Janice), Phillip Golden (Linda), Candace Wright (Rodney), Anna Williams (Robert), and Beverly Looney (Lonnie) as well as a large number of cousins, nieces and nephews.
Freddy was born in Hughes Springs, Texas on December 20, 1950 to J. E. “Sam” Golden and Jennie Lou (Crossland) Golden. He graduated from Ector High School in Odessa and then served in the Army. He married Pamela Sue Rogers on January 8, 1972 in Odessa. Freddy worked in the oil industry for the majority of his career. He enjoyed supporting his children’s and grandchildren’s activities. He was an avid fisherman and loved camping and traveling with his wife and family.
His family will remember Freddy as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who loved his family dearly. He was humble, kind, sweet, funny and generous to everyone young and old. He enjoyed his children’s successes and his grandchildren’s accomplishments especially Jacelyn’s love of art and photography as well as her storytelling and Colton’s love of football and enthusiasm for automotive projects.
Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, April 1, 2021 from 4-8 PM at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home in Odessa, Texas. Funeral services will be Friday, April 2, 2021 at 10 AM at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home with Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating.
