Genevieve "Jimmie" A. Thomas

Genevieve “Jimmie” Thomas, age 89, passed away Friday, October 11, 2013, at her residence in Odessa.

She was born August 19, 1924, to Clarence S. and Bertha G. (Tausch) Born in Santa Ana, CA. She was raised in Durango, Colorado and graduated from Durango High School. She was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church and a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Friendship Chapter No. 1008. She was a banking professional for many years and worked for banks in Kermit, El Paso, and Odessa prior to her retirement from Western National Bank in October, 1993. She was an exceptional artist and enjoyed reading and cooking.

She was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Bertha Born, and her son Mark Thomas.

She is survived by her son George Steven Thomas of Odessa; her sisters Ilene O'Brien of Durango, CO and Thelma McDonald of El Paso, TX; her brother Allen Born of Denver, CO; her daughter-in-law, Sheryl Thomas of Odessa; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 17th at the Hubbard-Kelly Funeral home.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 18th at the Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel.
