

Grady Bingham, 87, a longtime resident of Odessa, went to see his eternal father on January 31, 2016, at Odessa Regional Medical Center. Grady was born in the community of Champion, Texas, to Arthur Virgil Bingham and Martha Bankhead Bingham on January 20, 1929.
Grady attended Highland High School in Champion Texas starting in 1942. While there he attended the Texas Basketball State Championship 2 times and continued on graduating in 1946. After graduation Grady moved to California and was employed by the City of Wasco. He was then drafted to the Army in January 1951 where he was stationed in Fort Ord, California, until he was deployed to North Korea during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged as a Ranking Seargent in October 1952. He then came to Odessa and met his beautiful wife to be Jeannine. They married on December 1, 1953 and they moved to California where they resided until 1978.
While in California he worked for Mobil Oil for 10 years, and then He worked for the State of California Highway Department for 12 years. After retiring from the State of California, Grady and his family moved back to Odessa and he went to work for Vyrion Davis at Metal Specialties. Shortly after, he then worked at ECISD for 8 years as a mail carrier where his love for High School football started. Going forward his passion for both Odessa High and Odessa Permian continued to grow.
Grady enjoyed spending his time working outside on any project he could find. His biggest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a very dedicated husband, father, grandpa and friend to anyone he met.
Grady is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Mitchell and Weldon Bingham all of California.
Grady is survived by his wife, Jeannine Bingham of Odessa; his sons and spouses: Wesley Mark Bingham of Odessa, Gregory Wayne and Beth Bingham of Odessa, Danny Kevin and Sam Bingham of Andrews; his grandchildren and spouses: Jeremy Bingham, Christopher and Kayla Bingham, Tiffany and Michael Grant; 3 great-grandchildren, Tyler and Landon Bingham and Kylee Grant.
Family visitation will be 6 pm to 8 pm Thursday, February 4, 2016 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Friday, February 5, 2016 at First United Pentecostal Church with Rev. Terry Pugh officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
