

Jack Edward Estes of Odessa, Texas passed peacefully to eternal rest and salvation, surrounded by his beloved family on April 3, 2010. Jack was born in Clovis, New Mexico on October 11, 1929 where he grew up and graduated high school. He graduated college at Eastern New Mexico University where he earned a B. S. in Biology. He served in the United States Navy as a flight deck crewman and was selected and served as Captain’s Orderly. He worked in the oil and gas industry and retired from Harbison-Fisher after 20 years.
Jack loved the game of golf and played up until December 2009. During that time he set a course record at Sunset Country Club of a 64. He then went on to achieve two holes in one. Jack truly believed in living life to the fullest and enjoying every day. He married Patricia Ann on October 31, 1981. They went on many wonderful trips. Jack loved traveling extensively and made friends in every country they visited. He has played golf in Hawaii and Mexico. Jack was a member of First Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Mary and Claude Estes, SR. and brother Claude Estes, Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann of the home, his children Tammy Brown, Steve Estes and step-daughter Christy Fowler. Grandchildren, Christopher, Katie and Sam Brown, Tori Estes, Brandon Shetter, RayAnn Fowler and Nicholas Fowler. Also a sister Delilah Montoya of Raton, NM., nephews Bill and Ted Lusk, Larry Estes and a niece Mary Spence.
Family will receive friends at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors Tuesday, April 6, 2010 from 6p.m-8p.m.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Chapel.
