

James, 74, of Odessa, Tx left his earthly home December 21st to be with his Mom and Dad. James is survived by his wife of 50 years Betty Mobley of Odessa, his children, Ray and Sherry Gainey of Odessa, Jimmy and Shelly Mobley of Leander, Tx and Rob and Kristy Geer of Odessa. As well as his 6 Grandchildren, 2 Great Grandchildren, 6 Sisters, 1 Brother, 1 Stepsister, 4 Stepbrothers, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
James loved his family and was a hard worker who provided for them by working at the Cement Plant in Monahans for over 38 years before retiring in 2007. He loved the Dallas Cowboys, unless they lost, as well as bowling and his beer. Early in the 60’s, while serving in Germany with the US Army, James was able to obtain his Associates Degree as a Shoemaker.
James was a giving man who would always be willing to give of himself which is demonstrated by his last act of donating his body to Texas Tech Health Sciences Center, School of Medicine.
