He was born May 18, 1917 to John W. and Velma Burnette in Monticello, Arkansas.
He served in the WW II Air Force from 1942-1946 as a Sergeant. Before he became self employed, he worked for J.H. Marks and E. L. Farmer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Ruby Lee Burnette.
He is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Peek of Odessa, granddaughter, Moira Ward, great-granddaughter Miranda Ward and husband Lucas.
Chapel service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 14, 2011 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home with Dr. Byron McWilliams and Curtis Brewer officiating.
Burial will follow at Ector County Cemetery.
