Josephine M. Mendias Rodriquez

Josephine Rodriguez, age 81 of Odessa passed away on March 31, 2011 at Hospice House. She was born December 7, 1929 to Apolonio and Ester Mendias in Marfa, Texas. Josephine married Gregorio “Ruben” Rodriguez on June 14, 1953 in Marfa.

She was employed part-time at Pepsi Cola Bottling Company in the early 70’s.

She loved spending time with her family. Josephine was an auxiliary member of the Legion of Mary at St. Mary’s Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother and one sister.

She is survived by her daughter Shellie Mendoza (Paul) of Odessa, Oscar Rodriguez (Karen) of Corinth, Greg Rodriguez (Susan) of Crane, sisters Estefana Spitzer of Marfa, Polly Delgadillo, Seligman of AZ., Henry Mendias of Bracketville, Ben Mendias of Van Horn, numerous nieces and nephews. Grandchildren, Ryan, Aaron and Andrew from Crane, Allyse from Corinth, step great grand kids Robert Jr., Siera, JJ Collins of Odessa, Lelani Mendoza of Odessa, step grand kids JP Mendoza (Amber) of Odessa Rachelle Gilliland (Josh) of Odessa, Valerie Martinez (Robert) from Odessa and Cathy Mendoza (Marcos) of Odessa.

Pallbearers Lupe Galindo, JP Mendoza, Paul Spitzer, Frankie Rodriguez, Don Witte, Mark Graves.

Rosary with the family will be Sunday, April 3, 2011 7:00 p.m. at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 4, 2011 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Fr. Santiago Udyar officiating and burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
