

Luline Miles Minshew, 94, of Odessa passed away on Monday, July 13, 2015 at Parks Retirement Village. She was born on July 9, 1921 in Colorado City, TX to William Keith and Ida Mae Miles and graduated Colorado City High School in 1939.
She married Charlie Minshew of Colorado City and was a devoted stepmother to Roy and CJ, together they had one child Donald K. They moved their family to Odessa in 1957 and she continued her 32 year career at TU Electric in the service department. Luline was a member of the Black Gold Chapter of the American Business Women's Association, during that time she received the American Business Woman of the year award and gave many years of dedication and service to that organization.
Luline was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Friendship Chapter #1008 and received a 50 year pin for dedication and support in March 2011.
She was a member of Crescent Park Baptist Church and loved her time with her Sunday School class. Each year she looked forward to making and serving her homemade egg nog at Don's business on Christmas, even after her 90th birthday she continued to volunteer at the Northside Senior Citizen Center. For years she enjoyed bingo and spending time with family and friends at the Moose Lodge. She also loved to travel and spent numerous hours in front of a Slot Machine.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband Charlie Minshew and her grandson Lowell, son of CJ Calloway, and her beloved best friends (dog) Honey and Amy.
She is survived by her son, Donald K. Minshew of Odessa, TX, his two daughters, Tracy and husband Kenny Meek of Georgetown TX, and Donnell Minshew-Nicks and her granddaughter Emily Nicks of Lemoore, CA, daughter, CJ Calloway of Ft Worth, TX, her daughter, Angela and her son Danny, and his wife Kay, and her three grandchildren, Amanda, Bubba and Kyle, her son, Roy and wife, Ellie Minshew of Georgetown TX, their sons Marcus of Austin and Paul and his wife Donna of Round Rock, TX, and 2 grandchildren, Kieth and Byron. Extended family includes Chad Waite and Mendy Goodson of Odessa, TX who have been by her side for several years.
Additionally our family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Parks Methodist Retirement Village.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to Shriners Hospitals for Children-Galveston, 815 Market Street, Galveston TX 77550-9969, would be much appreciated by the family.
Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, July 16, 2015 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, July 17, 2015 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
