

Maxine's mother, Pearl T. Jordan married her father, Roy Bynum. Roy was killed in a tractor accident when Maxine was only 9 months old. Her mother married Ray Hawkins Thomas 2 years later and he raised Maxine with lots of love and 11 brothers and sisters.
She worked for and retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company after 35 years of service.
Maxine took care of everyone, and she even wrote this with the added note "anything else you want to say about me." Maxine was the ultimate Nana, she spoiled everyone. She would have the youth from Church over each month for supper. She loved to travel and took many trips with her grandson and later her other Maxine a good friend.
She was proceeded in death by her husband Jack Creel, sons Johnny Wayne and Wayne Creel, her parents, grandparents and three brothers in law, Kenneth Menix, Glynn Boone and Arnold Boone; a nephew Robert Thomas, three sisters Tiney Thomas, Effie Thomas and Ruth Menix.
She is survived by her daughter Brenda Vicars and Joe Herrin of Gardendale, grandson William Robert Truelock and wife Margie and three great grandsons, Jack Nolen, Noah Kyle, and William Baron Truelock all of Amarillo, Tx; brothers Donald Ray Thomas, Orville Thomas, Butch Thomas, and Royle Blaine Thomas; sisters Mary Faye Boone, Ann Stubbs, and Earline Boone; Sharon Menix, a beloved sister-in-law that she loved very much; one uncle Henry Jordan and wife Katie of Ft. Worth, Tx; many loving nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Maxine is a Christian and member of Greenfield Acres Baptist Church in Odessa.
Pallbearers are Robert Floyd, Chris Stout, James Truelock, and great grandsons-Jack Nolen, Noah Kyle and William Baron Truelock.
Visitation will be held Today Wednesday December 28, 2011 from 9am to 9PM at Odessa Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel with Jimmy Skiles officiating, Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Service by Odessa Funeral Home.
