

Mr. Calderon was met in Our Heavenly Kingdom by his beloved wife, Elvira Lujan Calderon; parents, Clemente and Adela Calderon; brothers, Ricardo Calderon, Eliseo Calderon, Ernesto Calderon; sisters, Elfida Segura, and Virginia Vallejo.
Surrounded by his loving family, and at his bedside at Medical Center Hospital, Mr. Calderon passed away Tuesday, February 2nd, 2016 at the age of 96.
He was born September 29, 1919 in Candelaria, Texas to Clemente and Adela Calderon. He was united in marriage to Elvira Calderon May 3, 1947 in El Mulato, Chihuahua Mexico, sharing 63 wonderful years of marriage.
Miguel served as a decorated World War II veteran in the United States Army. He was a tank driver stationed in Northern France, achieved the rank of Sergeant in General Patton’s 3rd army, and served as a military police stationed Germany. He went on to work with the Southern Pacific Railroad in the water service department, retiring after 43 years of dedicated service.
Besides telling compelling war stories, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, listening and dancing to music, watching the Texas Rangers play baseball, and cruising around town in his favorite Cadillac. My beloved father, grandfather, and brother, you will be dearly missed, but you will always remain in our hearts and thoughts.
He is survived by his son, Mike Calderon (Alice) of San Antonio, Texas; daughters, Oralia “Lee” Sanchez (Rogelio) of Odessa, Delfa Calderon of Richland; brother, Raymundo Calderon; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren. & A Host of Nieces, Nephews ,Cousins and Many Friends.

Visitation will be held today Friday February 5, 2016 from 8am to 9pm with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m., Saturday February 6, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Rev. Isidore Ochiabuto officiating. Interment to follow at Ector County Cemetery Los Angeles Section. Services by Odessa Funeral Home.
