Norma M. Deas left her earthly body and joined Jesus in Heaven early on Easter morning, Sunday, April 1, 2018 at Parks Senior Living. She was 85 years old. She was born August 27, 1932 in Patmos, Arkansas to Eva Mae Stiles Morrison and Everad L. Morrison. She grew up in Hope, Arkansas, where she played basketball and was valedictorian of her senior class in 1950. There, she met the love of her life, Clifton M. Deas, and they married June 22, 1950. They were married 52 years until Cliff passed away in 2002. Norma was a long-time resident of Odessa and worked in the insurance business for over 30 years. She was a member of Beta Sigma Fi, and a member of Vine Baptist Church. Norma loved reading, listening to music, cooking for her family and playing with her grand-children. She was beautiful, fun and she loved her family unconditionally.
Funeral Services are scheduled for Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel at Frank W Wilson Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at the Ector County Cemetery. Johnny Touchstone is officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday, April 4, 2018 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton M. Deas; her parents, Eva Mae and Everad Morrison, and her grandson, Coby Dale Uhlhorn. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Uhlhorn and son-in-law Billy, step-son Glen Deas and wife Ann, sisters Nadine Stringer, Sandee Campbell and husband Ralph, brothers Leon Morrison and Larry Morrison and wife Jan, granddaughter Heather Spruill and husband Gordon Spruill, and great-grandchildren Ashley Uhlhorn, Jonathan Spruill, Krystal Spruill and Bethany Spruill and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at Parks Senior Living for the loving and compassionate care they gave her in the last years of her life.
