Norma Jean Everett Duff, born Jan 10, 1931 in Shawnee, OK. Her Mother was Minnie Mae Gaines Everett, born in 1904. Her Father was Smith Augustus Everett, born in 1899. She married the love of her life William Bell Duff (Dubb) in Lubbock, TX in 1953, after attending Texas Tech.
Her Father, Gus Everett drove south to find work. He called her mother, Minnie Mae from Jal, NM where he found a job working on a Cavle Tool Rig. They moved many times before they moved to Kermit in 1944. They lived there 7 years. At the age of 12, Norma was baptized at the First Baptist Church. They moved to Lubbock her senior year in High School, where she joined the Band and became a Twirler.
Norma went to Texas Tech, and there she met her dear husband Dub Duff in 1952, and married him in 1953. They had 3 children, William Bell Duff, Jr, Douglas Everett Duff, and a daughter Deborah Dee Duff Masters. Norma had 6 grandchildren: Audrey Everett Duff Zeifman, Jodie Duff Pennington, Dana Dee Masters Isham, Alissa Lee Masters Copley, Tara Leigh Masters Wallace, and Mark Dugas. Norma had many great grandchildren: Jacqueline Copley, Ella Rae Parker, Lucy Pennington, Will McCrory, Ethan Copley, Evan Dugas, Lady Pennington, Trey Copley, Taylor McCrory, Vivi Gonzales, Lilly Pennington, Everett Gonzalez, Sara Pennington, Jimmy Pennington, Layla Wallace, and Maya Jean Wallace.
When Norma Jean was about 18, she became an Airline Stewardess, and never lost her love for travel. She loved adventure and traveled to exotic places around the world, from the Serengeti to the Galapagos; to Africa, Australia, Canada, to Costa Rica, and from the Great Wall of China to the Pyramids of Giza. She also went to the Great Barrier Reef, to the jungles of Guatemala, most every Island in the Caribbean to the Panama Canal on its 100th anniversary... and her favorite: she traveled many times to Israel. Norma often said “If I die in Israel... Just leave me there.” She has finally made the trip of a lifetime, the one she has longed for... She has now arrived... Heaven is now her final destination! She wants you to join her!
Norma was 12, when she made Christ the center of our home. Norma was always, always, leading the children to love the Lord and follow his teachings. Norma is grateful to God that they are all Christians; children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. So Norma says she felt very blessed that her prayers of a life time have been answered.
In lieu of flowers family suggests donations be made out to Crossroads Fellowship: Retro in loving memory of Norma Jean Everett Duff.
