Patsy Sue Harrell

Patsy Sue Harrell, 70, a long time resident of Odessa passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2011 in Midland. She was born May 16, 1940 in Girard, TX to Bill & Lee (Beaver) Murphy. After graduating from Kermit High School in 1958, she married Frank Harrell from Sanderson, Texas. Almost immediately they began creating a large close-knit family of six.

With her one of a kind personality, Patsy embraced life. Along with her love of music, she left her children and grandchildren the legacy of loving life and giving to others. Throughout her recent illness, she impressed everyone with her courage and strength. Her children will forever remember her as an amazing mother, selfless and loving. She was a homemaker and a member of Parkview Church of Christ.

She is survived by her sons, Mark Harrell of Midland, Daniel Harrell of Nashville, TN, daughters, Leah Harrell of Odessa, Lydia Lyon of Tuscola, TX, Rachel Haner and Elisabeth Tinsley both of Midland, also by her sister, Joan Pitts of Kiefer, OK, brother, Rollie Murphy of Lubbock , (19) grandchildren and her aunt, Nancy Jo Beaver of Sierra Vista, AZ.

There will be a visitation from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 29, 2011 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with Dan Harrell officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Odessa Christian School or Midland Christian School.
