

Paul was born in April of 1959 in Stanton, TX to Paulino Mendoza, Sr. and Gonzala R. Nieto. Paul retired from the United States Army and began working for Shamrock Steel as a Truck Driver for 36 years. Paul married Shellie in August of 1997 and they were able to celebrate 18 years together. Paul was an active and dedicated member of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church where he served as a Eucharistic Minister, Assisted with the CCD Program, was Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council 10404 and was also up to 4th Degree with the Knights of Columbus.
Paul is survived by his wife, Arazelia ‘Shellie’ Mendoza of Odessa; Son, Juan Paulino ‘JP’ Mendoza, Daughters, Rachelle Nunez Mendoza, Valerie Nicole Martinez and her husband Robert, and Catherine Nunez Mendoza, all of Odessa; Sister, Gloria Mendoza of Bakersfield, CA. and Brothers, Thomas Mendoza and Hector Nieto, both of Odessa. Paul is also survived by his 5 grandchildren whom he loved with all his heart, Robert Heath Collins Jr., Siera Janai Collins, Jorge Juan Collins, Leilani Hope Mendoza and Patrick Ian Martinez, all of Odessa, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his Parents, Paulino Mendoza, Sr. and Gonzala R. Nieto, and Sister, Martha Martinez.
Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, November 19, 2015, at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors (4635 Oakwood Dr. Odessa). Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 20, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church (907 S. Dixie Odessa) with Rev. Joe Uecker. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens (6801 I-20 Bus Odessa). Pall Bearers include Son in law, Robert P. Martinez, Co-Workers, Ernie Pinedo and Frank Minjares, Friends and Compadres, Luz Gomez, Robert Sanchez and Juan Rodriguez. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Paul’s life.
In lieu of flowers, Paul asked to please send donations to St. Mary’s Central Catholic School at 1703 Adams Ave Odessa, TX 79761. Condolences can be sent to 7300 Donatello St. Odessa, TX 79765.
