

He was born March 4, 1919 in Lajitas to Macario and Severiana Alvarado Hinojos.
He married Sofia Hernandez Hinojos in Alpine October 12, 1946.
He was a carpenter.
Santiago was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1941.He survived Normandy Beach and marched on to Ardennes Forest to suffer cold and starvation until Patton broke through the “bulge”. He was wounded when he as a litter bearer tried to rescue a wounded soldier. He was so zealous in helping the war effort that he did not report his wound for three days when the wound started to give him problems.
Upon arriving to the States, he married Sofia Hernandez and came to Odessa where he lived until his death.

He was preceded in death by his dad Marario Hinojos, his mother Severiana Hinojos, brothers, Abel, Polo, Macario, Epifiano, sisters, Isabel, Thomasa and Josepha.
He is survived by his wife Sofia Hinojos of Odessa, sons: Manuel Hinojos of Big Spring, Ismael Hinojos, Rudy Hinojos, and Hector all of Odessa, Osmundo Hinojos of Port Arthur, daughters: Nina Galvan, Hilda Cosme both of Odessa, Norma Carrillo of Kermit, and Connie Lujan of Midland, twenty eight grandchildren, thirty four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Manuel Hinojos, Ismael Hinojos, Hector Hinojos, Larry Sotelo, Isidro Galvan, and Osmundo Hinojos.
Rosary will be at 7:00 pm Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
Mass will be at 10:00 am Thursday, October 15, 2015 at Holy Redeemer with Father Michael officiating.
Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements are by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
