She was born on April 1, 1957 in Odessa, TX and graduated from Odessa High School. She was a successful Director of National Conventions and Expositions for over 30 years while living in the DFW area. She was an animal lover and her passion was in dog rescue, foster care and adoption.
Shelly was preceded in death by her stepfather, Bill Kuykendall.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Doug Reeves along with her four fur-babies Shasta, Cassie, Lulah and Allie. She is also survived by her mother, Barbara Kuykendall of Odessa, TX; sisters, Sherri Dwyer & husband Darvin of Cypress, TX, Cindy Garner & husband Dennis of Amarillo, TX; her sister-in-law, Diane Combs & husband Dean of Odessa, TX; brother-in-law, Dan Reeves & wife Kay of Fort Worth, TX; several nieces and nephews, Dillon Garner, Michael and Mathew Dwyer, Tanner, Kacey and Zach Reeves, Kelly, Katherine and Caleb Combs.
When Shelly entered a room, the number of smiles seemed to increase, regardless of the crowd. People loved Shelly! With her infectious personality, wit and kind heart, ALL agreed that she was the family favorite and she will be greatly missed!
A memorial service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 8644 Andrews Hwy., Odessa, TX on Monday, November 19th at 4:00 pm.
