Stephen Michael Nichols

July 8, 2011 Stephen Michael Nichols, 55 took our Lord Jesus Christ’s hand and entered the gates of Heaven.

Mike was born April 20, 1956 in Odessa, TX to Bobby Joe and Peggy Nichols. He married Barbara Jean Russell on February 22, 1992.

Mike was a hard worker; he worked for Saulcon as the Yard Superintendent for many years until his illness.

Mike loved God, his family, and life. He lived his life to the fullest. Mike’s favorite hobby was his motorcycles, how fast could he make the next one run. He still holds the record at the Penwell Raceway for the fasted time on the track. Many a day was spent with Jacob tearing down motorcycles, rebuilding them, and riding around town. Mike loved to fish, hunt, and find the next best gun. He loved his Friday nights at Gattiland with his grandkids and getting his hair done by the girls. His sense of humor always made someone smile. Most of all, Mike was a devoted Christian; he love the Lord with all his heart, and never lost his faith throughout his illness. Mike led many friends and coworkers to the Lord; he was a member of Odessa Christian Faith Center.

Mike was preceded in death by his wife Barbara, his father and mother, Bobby Joe and Peggy Nichols, and his grandparents; Boyce Ray and Irene Nichols and Ben and Erma Lee Hudman. He is survived by his daughter, Summer Dawn Darvischi and husband Stefan, of Granbury; his son Michael Royce Nichols and wife April of Robert Lee; his son Stephen Jacob Nichols of Odessa, one brother D.R. Nichols of Odessa, and one sister Tamyra Denyce Clements of Odessa; a step-daughter Melissa Leigh Bradshaw and husband Alan of Odessa, step-son James Amerson Russell, Jr. and wife Lisa of Odessa, seven grandchildren and three nieces who all loved him very much.

A memorial service for Mike will be at Odessa Christian Faith Center, 8860 Andrews Hwy, Odessa, TX Monday, July 11, 2011, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Don Caywood officiating. In lieu of flowers please make memorials to Home Hospice.
