Viola May “Joy” Phillips, 87, of Odessa passed away Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Buena Vida Nursing Home. She was born September 4, 1925 in Thackerville, OK to Walter & Viola Turner. She married Ralph Howard Phillips October 24, 1942 in Colorado City, TX. He preceded her in death June 9, 1986. She is also preceded in death by her parents, her son, Roger Phillips, (5) brothers, & (4) sisters.
She is survived by her sons, Richard Phillips & wife Linda Johnson of Odessa, Jerry Phillips & wife Bobbie of Odessa, & Randy Phillips & wife Shari of Greenbriar, Arkansas, her brother, Wendell Turner & wife Elena, (14) grandchildren, & (20) great-grandchildren, & numerous nieces, nephews & friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Thomason officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
