Alice Lorene Yeats, born December 3, 1929, married to Eric Marion Yeats, Sr., on June 23, 1947. Together they raised five children Bobby, Marion, Judy, Michael and Sharon; twelve grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren and one more one the way.
Alice is preceded in death by her husband, her oldest son Bobby and her youngest son Michael.
Alice was an only child and wanted a big family and was very blessed to have received that. Her loves and pure joys were always her grandchildren whom she doted and bragged on to everyone. If it had been possible, she would have loved to volunteer and rock babies in a hospital.
Alice spent her life volunteering in several different venues. She had been an employee at Western Electric in Arizona, then moved to OKC and worked for AT&T.
She was in the “Pioneers” at AT&T that were dedicated to helping others in the community. They were one of the first to make “teddy bears” for the Oklahoma City Police Department to carry in their patrol cars for traumatized children to give them comfort.
She was president of her neighborhood watch group of Corbin Park for several years.
She sponsored monies toward heart disease, polio, disabled Veterans and other charities. She was a member of the VFW in every state they lived.
Alice never met a stranger if they stopped by the house for a visit. She immediately would offer her iced tea or something to eat. She loved working in her yard and tending to her flowerbeds. Neighbors would always stop by to visit because of her front yard.
Her loves and her pure joys in her life were her grandchildren.
The family has a basket of wildflowers. We ask that you please take one and plant wherever you like to keep her love of flowers spreading to continue for many years to come.
