Alva Nadell (Frederick) Parker was born at home December 31, 1938 on the family farm between Loco and Comanche, OK to William Herschel Frederick and Robert Dovie (Thompson) Frederick. She passed away surrounded by her loved ones at the family home in Tuttle, OK, August 27, 2019, after a long illness.
Nadell grew up in Oklahoma and California where she attended Oxnard High School in Oxnard, California. She moved back to Oklahoma with her family during her senior year then graduated from El Reno High School in 1957.
In 1963 she met the love of her life, Wallace Alton Parker, and in March of 1964 they were married. She was married to her best friend for 33 years until his passing in 1997. They lived together in Oklahoma City until 1970 when they moved to Tuttle, OK.
Through all the events of her life, the joys and pains, love and loss, happiness and sorrow, she faced everything with determination and a sparkle in her eyes. She lived, loved and laughed in ways that showed all of us how to live. Nadell had many titles and she wore them all with equal pride: wife, mom, homemaker, friend, Grandma Dell and Aunt Dell. Her life’s work was devoted to making a home for her family, spending time with her grandchildren, relatives and friends and loving any child that came her way. She dearly loved her grandbabies, great grandbabies and nieces and nephews. She was always glad to have kids stay with her while their parents were at work or school and it was truly a blessing. We will all miss those sparkling blue eyes, her smile and hugs and the laughter that have been with us all our lives. While we will miss you so much, we are glad to know that you are now free from pain and are re-united in the newness of life walking with your best friend and family forever.
Nadell was preceded in death by her parents, Herschel and Dovie Frederick; husband, Wallace Parker; sister Marjorie (Frederick) Judkins; brothers William Edward Thornhill, Robert Glenn Thornhill and Arliss Burton.
