

Ruth Ann (Nigh) Ridley, 83 year old and longtime Newcastle resident, passed away Monday, June 17th in her home in Newcastle. Ann was born to John and Ruth (Renard) Nigh in Chelsea, Okla. on July 18, 1935. She married William H. Wilson on June 5, 1953. They made their home in Bethany, Oklahoma where she attended the Church of Christ. Bill and Ann had two sons, John Samuel Wilson born Oct. 12, 1955 and Harvey Leon Wilson born Dec. 29, 1957. Ann was a home maker and once her sons were grown, she worked as a custodian for Putnam City Schools.
On May 24, 1997 she married Gene Ridley who was her faithful partner and the love of her life. They both attended Newcastle Church of Christ and Newcastle Senior Citizens. Ann was also a dog breeder of toy poodles. Her two favorite pets were her standard poodles, Baby and Buddy.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gene in 2016, her son John, parents, and her two sisters: May Lou Johnson and Barbara Clarkson. Survivors include one child, Harvey Wilson and wife Teresa of Newcastle and two step-children: Ron Ridley and wife Solly and Sharon Ridley. She was a loving Nana to her grandchildren: William John Wilson and wife Susan Crooke, Dylan Wilson and wife Tori, Travis Wilson, and Rachel (Wilson) Tollison and husband Colan; and five great-grandchildren: Cole Wilson, Jesse Wilson, Tenley Wilson, Bella Crooke, and Hunter Wilson.
Services have been entrusted to the care of Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services located at 7720 S. Pennsylvania Ave. in Oklahoma City. A public visitation will take place on Saturday, June 22 from 10am-4pm at the funeral home with family greeting friends from 2-4pm. A funeral service honoring Ann’s life will take place on Monday, June 24, 2019 at 10am at Newcastle Heights Church of Christ in Newcastle, Ok with burial to follow at 3:30pm at Chelsea Cemetery in Chelsea, OK.
