Archie J Herbert

He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years Norene, who he married on 12-26-1944 and passed away in June of 1994. Archie was also preceded in death by his brothers; Charles, Jay D. and Clyde Herbert and a sister Alice Shrum. He is survived by a sister Doris Gregory of Yellville, AR, a brother Harry and wife June Herbert of Oklahoma City, OK and a sister-in-law Delsie Herbert of El Reno, OK.

Archie served in the US Army from 1940 until 1945 with the 108th Infantry Division in the Southern Philippines and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one Bronze Star, American Defense Ribbon and the Bronze Arrowhead. Archie retired from General Electric in 1978 and was a longtime member of Linwood United Methodist Church.

Graveside service will be 10:00 am, Monday, March 7, 2011 at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
