It was in Beaumont that she met the love of her life, Billy Ray Brown, and where they married on July 29, 1955. In 1965, they moved from Alabama to Oklahoma where they lived out the rest of their marriage surrounded by their children, Janet Alcorn, Wanda Wynne, and Mary Hales, as well as their grandchildren and great-grandchildren until the passing of Billy in 2008.
Along with Billy, Betty was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Geneva; her brothers Ray, Rusty, Orin, Freddie, and Romie; her sisters Faye, Virginia (Jenny), and Barbara (Bobby); her sons-in-law Phillip Wayne Hales and Buck Wynne; as well as her grandchildren Emily Hales and Crysidia Alcorn.
Betty is survived and forever remembered by her three daughters, Janet and spouse Rex, Wanda, and Mary; grandchildren Stacie and spouse Brandon, Jennifer, Christine, Christopher, Miranda and spouse Chris; and her great-grandchildren and their children as well. Betty’s memory will forever live on for many generations to come in many ways. One of the many ways will be through her recipes, as many of her children and grandchildren still work to master her recipes such as her Thanksgiving stuffing and pecan pies.
A visitation for Betty will be held Monday, June 19, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73141. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, June 20, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Arlington Memory Gardens, 3400 North Midwest Blvd, Oklahoma City, OK 73141.
