Betty Jane Hill was born on July 14, 1943, to parents Bruce Hammonds and Irene Ferguson in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She spent some years living in Lakeland, Florida, prior to relocating to Oklahoma in 1975. Betty married the love of her life, Larry J. Hill, on September 24, 1960, until his passing on October 22, 1985.
Most know that Betty enjoyed listening to country music. A perfect day for her would be having her family and friends around her on a bright sunny day with a cookout. People always made her laugh when they acted silly, especially her grandkids. Betty enjoyed dancing as well.
Something she taught others is how to survive in this world and how to laugh, love, and be strong. People will always remember Betty as a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was so proud of her grandkids and loved them endlessly.
Betty is survived by her children Helen “Marie” Hill of Westville, Oklahoma; Larry J. Hill II (Barb) of Guthrie, Oklahoma; Glenda J. Clubb of Midwest City, Oklahoma; sister Mary Alice Williams of Lakeland, Florida; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and her dog Ronnie.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Larry J. Hill, and daughter, Rita Schlembach (Steve).
A visitation for Betty will be held Monday, March 17, 2025 from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73141. A funeral service will occur Monday, March 17, 2025 at 2:00 PM, 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73141. A burial will occur Monday, March 17, 2025 at Arlington Memory Gardens, 3400 N Midwest Blvd, Oklahoma City, OK 73141.
