

Betty Jean (BJ) Muehlenweg, age 94, of Luther, Oklahoma died peacefully on February 11, 2026. Betty was born on December 6, 1931, in Maud, Oklahoma, to John M. Dodson and Dola Mae (Smith) Horton.
Betty was the devoted wife of the late Colonel James (Jim) A. Muehlenweg, (United States Air Force/Retired) and will be laid to rest next to him at Arlington Memory Gardens.
As a loving mother and wife, she was the backbone for the family at home caring for their daughter and four sons while Jim was away on Air Force assignments and military duties overseas and throughout the United States for extended periods.
After moving to the country, she established her home, Jackass Flats, where she spent time loving on her miniature donkeys and watching newborn calves rip and play. Betty enjoyed feeding and watching all wildlife (birds, squirrels, possums, raccoons, and any other critters who stopped by) while sitting outside on her deck. She also acquired a feline friend named Buddah who would visit her on a daily basis.
She is survived by her children, Betsy A. Little (William), William A. Muehlenweg (Brigetta), J. Michael Muehlenweg (Debbie), and Thomas O. Muehlenweg (Wendy); her grandchildren, Alan (Megan), Andi, Ashley, Bonnie, Travis, Sean, Bryce, (Veronica), and her great-grandchildren; Ethan, (Anna), Aiden, Jacob, Brycen, and Luciano.
She was preceded in death by her son, Patrick A. Muehlenweg, her father, mother, stepfather, Gordon N. Horton, and her brothers, James B. Dodson, and Billy J. Dodson.
A viewing will be held at 11:30am at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd Street, OKC with a graveside following at 1pm on February 17, 2026, at Arlington Memory Gardens, 3400 N. Midwest Blvd, OKC
