Betty was born in Norman, OK, to Claude and Lillie Biggs. She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for 30 years. Betty is survived by her husband Jess J. Smethers; children Jess James Smethers, Sandra Kay Hayes, Dale Glen Smethers; grandchildren Ashley E. SMethers and Jakob Jess Smethers. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 30, at the Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper Chapel with burial follwing at 2 p.m. at Longwood Cemetery in Ponca City.
