Brooks “Boots” Hall, Jr., loving husband, father, brother, son, grandfather, uncle, friend, and businessman, was born in Oklahoma City on September 3, 1953, and passed on January 12, 2026, surrounded by his family and loved ones.
Boots was preceded in death by his parents, Brooks Hall and Marylin Jones; sister, Allison Hall, who passed in infancy; and stepbrother Warren “Mac” Oliver. He is survived by his wife, Carole Butler Hall; son Brooks J. Hall, his wife Angela, and their son Brooks; son Robert A. Hall, his wife Cindy, and their children Cale and Dillon; brother Fred J. Hall and his wife Karen; brother Kirkland Hall and his partner Shonda; his five nieces and nephews; and his sister Susie (Jarman) Martin and her husband Jim.
He attended the Maret School in Washington, D.C., where he met his future wife at the age of 14, and later attended the University of Denver before serving alongside his brothers at Hall Capital for over four decades. He served on the boards of OKC Economic Development, The Kirkpatrick Foundation, and the Oklahoma Automobile Dealers Association. Though he lived in and traveled to many places, Boots was an Oklahoman through and through, and he worked hard to make it a better place.
Boots was a hardworking man, deeply dedicated to his family - everything he did was for them. With friend groups everywhere, he was a magnetic force; people (and animals, including pet Raccoons) gravitated toward him, and he accepted and loved them all. He was compassionate, loving, caring, and hilarious. To be with Boots was to laugh with him. He loved the desert sun and lived for a good day on the golf course. He passed down his love for the game to his children and grandchildren, whom he loved fiercely.
Boots Hall will be immensely missed by all who loved him. He was always everyone’s go-to guy; you could count on him. He provided clarity and comfort without judgement, and generosity without expectation. In the end, Boots leaves us with the invitation to live for him by living like him: give affection freely, pull up another seat at the table, work hard and play harder, and always swing to hit.
At the family’s request, services to remember Boots Hall will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research and to the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art at the University of Oklahoma.
Additionally, the family would like to extend their gratitude to Boots’ incredible team of doctors, including Dr. Randy Morgan, Dr. Rachel Boram Park, the Integris Hospice House team, caregiver Cristina Medina, and longtime assistant Gaylynn Boice.
