

Buddy Michael Reeves was born in Ardmore, Oklahoma on April 19, 1935 to Byrd and Lucile Reeves, the first of four sons. He grew up in the Fort Worth area and graduated from Brewer High School playing football and boxing in the Golden Gloves. He felt God’s call to the ministry his senior year of high school and attended what is now Dallas Baptist University. He married Shirley Winter in 1955. He completed his degree at Oklahoma State University while pastoring in Drumright, OK. In 1964 he graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. For 30 years he pastored churches in OK, TX, CA, and WA. He was called from reserve status to active duty as a chaplain in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. His son, Presley, was born in Fort Worth in 1957. His daughter, Diana, was born in Cushing, OK in 1958. Their third child, Cheryl, was born in 1962 in Stevensville, TX. In 2000, due to his wife’s cancer diagnosis, they returned to OKC to be near family. Shirley went to be with the Lord in May of 2001. Buddy joined Putnam City Baptist Church in 2002 and over the next four years served as interim pastor for 3 churches in northwestern Oklahoma. He met Patricia Marshall in the singles’ class at PCBC and they married in 2005. He taught Bible studies, bereavement classes, and ushered in the following years. He faithfully fought cancer during the last four years of his life. Buddy went to be with the Lord on June 24, 2015. He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Reeves, father Byrd Reeves, mother Lucille Reeves and brother Presley Joe Reeves and brother Stafford Reeves. He is survived by his wife Patricia Reeves, son Presley Reeves, daughter Diana Boyungs, daughter Cheryl Noble, brother Don Reeves; grandchildren Ashley Reeves,Stephen Reeves, Roxana Ruest, Michael Ruest, Bryan Reeves, Vanessa Noble, Aaron Noble; great-grandchildren Noah Enyeart and Cedric Reeves. He is also survived by two step-children, their spouses, and six step-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Bill Dudley and Pastor Jerry Connell will officiate. Interment with Military Honors will be at 1:30 pm at Pleasant Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested donations may be made in memory of Buddy, to PCBC foreign missions fund.
